In short

SleepMac does not collect, store, or share any personal information about you. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Everything the app does happens on your own device. This page explains that in full, but the summary above is the whole story.

Who we are

SleepMac is a free sleep-sounds app for iOS and Android. It plays looping sleep sounds — white noise, pink noise, brown noise, gentle rain, ocean waves, and soft lullaby/dreamy tones — the same kind of sounds that ship on the SleepMac physical white-noise machines. You can mix up to three sounds together, set each one's volume, and use a sleep timer with a gentle fade-out.

In this policy, "we", "us", "our", "SleepMac", and "the app" refer to the app published by S3 Online Digital Pty Ltd. "You" means anyone who uses the app.

We do not collect any personal data

We have designed SleepMac so that it does not need any information about you. Specifically:

  • No accounts or login. You don't sign up, sign in, or give us a name, email address, or password to use the app.
  • No personal data collected. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, location, contacts, photos, device identifiers for tracking, advertising IDs, or any other personal information.
  • No analytics. We do not use any analytics or usage-tracking tools. We do not measure how you use the app, what you tap, or when you open it.
  • No advertising. The app shows no ads and contains no advertising or marketing SDKs.
  • No tracking. We do not track you across apps, websites, or devices, and we do not allow any third party to do so through the app.
  • No backend or servers. All sounds are bundled inside the app itself. The app works fully offline and does not send anything to us or anyone else over the internet.
  • No purchases. The app is completely free, with no subscriptions and no in-app purchases, so there is no billing or payment information involved.

Because we collect nothing, there is nothing about you for us to lose, misuse, sell, or hand over.

The only data SleepMac stores (and it stays on your device)

To make the app convenient, SleepMac remembers your last setup so it's ready when you come back. This is stored only on your device using the operating system's standard app storage. It is never transmitted off your device, and we never see it.

What is saved on your device:

  • Your last sound mix — which sounds you had selected.
  • The volume level you set for each of those sounds.

That's it. This information is not personal data, it is not linked to your identity, and it never leaves your phone or tablet. If you uninstall the app, this on-device data is removed by the operating system in the normal way.

The app also briefly uses your device's vibration/haptic feature to give a light tap when you press buttons. This happens entirely on the device and collects no data.

We do not share or sell anything

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share personal information — because we don't collect any. There is no third party we send your data to, because there is no data and no sending.

No third parties

SleepMac does not include third-party analytics, advertising, social-media, or tracking components. No third party receives information about you through the app. (The app stores are operated by Apple and Google; when you download or update the app, your dealings are with them under their own privacy policies, not ours. We do not receive personal information from them.)

Children and all-ages use

SleepMac is safe for people of all ages, including children, and is often used by parents to help babies and young children sleep. Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children — or from anyone else. There are no accounts, no profiles, no messaging, no ads, and no external links inside the app. Parents and guardians can let children use the app knowing that nothing about them is collected, stored off-device, or shared.

Security

Since SleepMac does not collect personal data and does not transmit anything off your device, there is no central database of user information that could be breached. The small amount of information the app saves (your last mix and volumes) is kept on your own device and is protected by your device's own security, such as your passcode, PIN, biometric lock, and the operating system's app sandboxing. We cannot access that information.

We have not claimed, and do not claim, any specific security certifications or third-party audits.

Links to other sites

The app itself does not contain links that take you out to external websites. We may reference our website (https://www.sleepmac.com.au) in store listings or this policy, but that is a separate site with its own terms and privacy practices. This policy covers only the SleepMac mobile app.

Your rights and global users

We want to be clear with users everywhere:

  • Australia (Privacy Act 1988 / Australian Privacy Principles). We are based in Australia. Under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), individuals have rights regarding personal information that an organisation holds about them. Because SleepMac does not collect or hold any personal information, there is no personal information for us to access, correct, or delete on request. If you have a privacy question or concern, you can contact us at admin@sleepmac.com. You may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
  • Europe / UK (GDPR). For users in the EU/EEA and the UK, our position is simple: we do not collect, process, or store any personal data, so there is no personal data on which GDPR rights (such as access, rectification, erasure, or portability) would operate.
  • California / United States (CCPA/CPRA and similar laws). We do not collect, sell, or share personal information as those laws define it. There is nothing for us to disclose, delete, or opt you out of, because we collect nothing.

In all cases, the same principle applies worldwide: we collect nothing.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the app works in a way that affects privacy, we will update this policy and change the effective date at the top. Any future version that introduces optional features involving data (for example, an optional account) would be described clearly here before such a feature is offered, and any such feature would be explained at the time. We encourage you to check this page from time to time.
